The Read

Style, strengths, and defining traits.

Cannonier has spent the second half of his UFC run proving that raw force can still be disciplined. The pressure is built on clean, heavy boxing and a willingness to throw with full commitment, but the middleweight climb also added five-round patience and enough composure to win hard main events without always needing a knockout.

That matters because his resume lives almost entirely in contender-level fights now. The wins over Vettori, Strickland and Brunson still explain why he stayed in the title mix so long, while the recent losses to Imavov, Borralho and Michael Page show how small the margins have become once age and pace start meeting elite movement.
