UFC Fight Night: Medic vs. Rodriguez
1 Aug 2026

Rakic's heavyweight debut went the full fifteen minutes and every judge gave him all three rounds. He took the first with the better output and the cleaner blows, and although Tybura came back into it across the second and third, Rakic had banked enough to take a unanimous verdict.

Key moments

  • Rakic took the opening round on output and the cleaner strikes.
  • Tybura pushed back through the second and third.
  • All three judges scored it 30-27 for Rakic in his heavyweight debut.

Rakić's latest appearance ended badly when Murzakanov stopped him with punches in the opening round.

Key moments

  • Murzakanov finished Rakić by first-round TKO at 3:11.
  • The defeat followed the unanimous-decision loss to Magomed Ankalaev in October 2024.
  • It pushed Rakić to four consecutive losses heading into the August 2026 Tybura booking.

26 Oct 2024

Ankalaev forced Rakić into a technical three-round fight and did enough to win unanimously on the cards.

Key moments

  • Lost a unanimous decision to Ankalaev after three rounds at UFC 308.
  • The defeat came six months after the Jiří Procházka stoppage at UFC 300.
  • It left Rakić 1-3 across the four-fight stretch after beating Thiago Santos.

UFC 300
13 Apr 2024

Rakić's return from the long layoff looked competitive early, but Procházka's pressure and finishing pace eventually took over in the second round. The fight mattered because it was his first appearance since the 2022 knee-injury loss to Błachowicz and it immediately threw him back into the deep end of the light-heavyweight title mix.

Key moments

  • Procházka stopped Rakić with punches at 3:17 of round two.
  • The bout was Rakić's first fight since the May 2022 knee-injury TKO against Jan Błachowicz.
  • The loss set up the October 2024 matchup with Magomed Ankalaev.

  • It was Rakić's second straight victory over a ranked former title challenger.

The Read

Style, strengths, and defining traits.

Rakić still profiles as a range-first light heavyweight whose kickboxing base shapes nearly everything he does well.

The recent résumé tells the harder part of the story. After clear decision wins over Anthony Smith and Thiago Santos pushed him toward the title tier, he lost four straight against Jan Błachowicz, Jiří Procházka, Magomed Ankalaev and Azamat Murzakanov. That slide is what made the move to heavyweight matter, and it ended there: he took every round against Marcin Tybura in Belgrade, 30-27 on all three cards, for his first win since March 2021.
