McGregor established the terms almost immediately, staying long and making Alvarez reach for him. The left hand dropped Alvarez early, then landed again as Alvarez tried to reset and close distance. Alvarez mixed in body work and pressure late, but the round belonged to McGregor’s timing, range control and repeated knockdowns.

6:30Round 2

Alvarez tried to start the second round with more forward pressure and fence work, but McGregor continued to deny clean wrestling entries. The challenger stayed composed, punished each reset and found the final sequence with a left hand and follow-up punches. The stoppage at 3:04 of round two made McGregor the UFC lightweight champion and the first simultaneous two-division UFC titleholder.
