The Read
Style, strengths, and defining traits.
Costa is at his best when he can pressure behind jab feints, slam the right kick into the body, and make exchanges feel heavier than they look on paper. The striking is built more on physical intimidation and attritional damage than clean point fighting, which is why he is dangerous whenever opponents let him set a kicking rhythm.
The résumé still turns on the 2019 Romero war and the Adesanya title shot, but the current story is the move back to 205 pounds. After steadying himself with the Kopylov win, Costa carried the same kicking game into light heavyweight and stopped Azamat Murzakanov to re-enter the divisional conversation.
