The finish mattered because it showed the Cameron Graham decision had not slowed his pace; he was back to early heavyweight damage and headed toward the Peclat fight that preceded his UFC debut.
Key moments
- Stopped Ott with punches at 1:45 of round one at Shogun Fights 29.
- The win came after Gimenis had gone the distance with Cameron Graham in March 2024.
- It set up the March 2025 first-round stoppage of Diego Peclat.

Going a full three rounds and still getting the unanimous verdict mattered because it showed he could bank a result without an early finish before returning to first-round stoppages in his next two appearances.
Key moments
- Beat Graham by unanimous decision after three rounds at Shogun Fights 28.
- It is the lone decision victory among Gimenis' six professional wins.
- The result bridged the Derrick Bradley submission win in October 2023 and the John Ott stoppage in October 2024.
